Mount Meru, Tanzania's second-highest peak at 4,566 meters (14,980 feet), is a majestic volcanic mountain located in Arusha National Park. Often overshadowed by nearby Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru offers a serene and less crowded hiking experience. Its pristine trails lead adventurers through diverse landscapes, including dense forests and open grasslands, culminating in breathtaking views from its summit. The climb to the top of this dormant volcano rewards hikers with a sense of accomplishment and stunning vistas of the surrounding landscape.

Day 1: Arusha to Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut
Elevation: 1,500m (4,920 ft) to 2,500m (8,200 ft)

06:00 - 07:00: Pickup from your hotel in Arusha and transfer to Arusha National Park’s Momella Gate.
08:00: Arrive at Momella Gate, complete registration, and meet your guides and porters.
09:00: Begin the trek to Miriakamba Hut.
13:00: Arrive at Miriakamba Hut. Lunch and rest.
14:00 - 16:00: Explore the area or acclimatize.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

Description:
01:00: Early wake-up and light breakfast.
02:00: Final ascent to Uhuru Peak.
06:00 - 07:00: Summit Uhuru Peak. Enjoy the sunrise and views.
08:00 - 09:00: Descend back to Saddle Hut for brunch.
12:00 - 14:00: Continue descending to Miriakamba Hut.
16:00: Arrive at Miriakamba Hut.
