Day 5: Acclimatization Day at Karanga Camp
Elevation: 4,035m
Description: Spend an extra day at Karanga Camp for acclimatization. You can explore the area, take a short hike, or simply rest.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Same as Day 6 in the 7-day itinerary
Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Barafu Camp
Elevation: 4,673m to 5,895m (Uhuru Peak) and back to 4,673m (Barafu Camp)
Distance: 13 km
Hiking Time: 8-10 hours
Description: After summiting Uhuru Peak, return to Barafu Camp for rest.
Day 8: Barafu Camp to Crater Camp
Elevation: 4,673m to 5,730m
Distance: 2 km
Hiking Time: 2-3 hours
Habitat: Arctic
Description: A unique option, this day takes you to Crater Camp, where you’ll camp near the summit, offering a close-up experience of the crater and glaciers.
Day 9: Crater Camp to Mweka Camp
Elevation: 5,730m to 3,067m
Distance: 18 km
Hiking Time: 10-12 hours
Description: Descend from Crater Camp to Mweka Camp, passing through Barafu Camp.
Day 10: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Same as Day 8 in the 7-day itinerary
