Mt. Kilimanjaro Information & Experience

In the first place, we have granted to nature, and by this our present guide confirmed for us and our future adventurers forever that the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro shall be free to explore, and shall retain her majesty untarnished, and her trails respected; and we will that it be thus observed; which is apparent from this that the paths of ascent, which are reckoned most significant and essential for the Kilimanjaro experience, we, of our pure and undeterred will, did recommend to all who seek to climb her heights: and this we will maintain, and our will is that it be maintained with reverence by all who tread these paths.

We have also granted to all climbers of our time, for us and our future generations forever.

In 2022, Safari Adventures Pioneered their first proposal done by their lovely Tourists at the Summit of Kilimanjaro sharing a wonderful experience.

Important Details on Climbing Kilimanjaro
Best Routes for Different Experience Levels

For Beginners:
Marangu Route is often considered the easiest for beginners due to its gradual ascent and hut accommodations, which offer more comfort compared to camping routes. It is also the only route with a designated hut system, making it less demanding in terms of setup.

For Intermediate Hikers:
Lemosho Route is excellent for intermediate hikers. It offers a more gradual acclimatization process with stunning scenery and is less crowded compared to the Marangu Route. It allows for a more gradual ascent and provides better acclimatization opportunities.

For Advanced Hikers:
Umbwe Route is suited for more experienced hikers due to its steeper and more challenging terrain. It is a shorter route with a rapid ascent, making it suitable for those with high fitness levels and prior high-altitude trekking experience.

  1. Best Views

Lemosho Route offers some of the best views on Kilimanjaro. The route traverses diverse landscapes, including rainforest, moorland, and alpine desert, and provides spectacular vistas of both Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. The Shira Plateau and the Lava Tower section are particularly scenic.

  1. Most Popular Route

Marangu Route is the most popular route due to its ease of access, comfortable hut accommodations, and relatively shorter trek duration. Its popularity, however, means it can be more crowded compared to other routes.

  1. Easiest Route During Rains

Machame Route is considered somewhat better during the rainy season compared to others. Although no route is immune to rain, the Machame Route has better-defined trails and campsites that are less affected by muddy conditions. However, it’s essential to be prepared for wet conditions regardless of the route chosen.
